Our team of experienced leaders brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge, guiding Kwacha Pension Trust Fund (KPTF) toward continued growth and success. With a shared commitment to excellence, the management team works tirelessly to ensure that KPTF remains a financially sustainable, member-centric pension Fund. Through sound management of the Fund’s resources, the management team is dedicated to delivering pension benefits to our Members in a prudent, efficient, and timely manner.
Vernon Maaya Mutaka
Executive Director
Mr. Vernon Maaya Mutaka is a pension fund specialist with over 24 years’ progressive experience in pensions and social security sector. Over the years he has been part of senior management teams in various pension fund administration and management firms and has successfully provided professional services to over twenty (20) pension schemes consisting of DB Schemes and DC Schemes in the Zambian pensions industry in areas such as pension fund finance, investments, administration, risk management and governance.
Prior to joining Kwacha Pension Trust Fund, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Mukuba Financial Services Limited/Mukuba Pension Trust DC Scheme. He has been an active member of the Zambia Association of Pension Funds and one of the facilitators for the Certificate of Competence for Trustees of Pension Schemes (CCTOPS) training conducted by the Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA).
He is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Fellow member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA), Member of the Institute of Directors Zambia (IoDZ) and holder of a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Lusaka. In addition, he holds a Diploma in Accounting from AAT (UK) and has certifications as Certified Pension Fund Administration Analyst, Chartered Risk Analyst and Investment Advisor/Stockbroker.
Muchindu M. Kabaso – Finance and Administration Manager
Highly experienced and technically proficient accountant with over 20 years of experience with proven expertise in Regulatory Compliance and Reporting; Corporate Governance, Strategy Formulation; Technical Leadership and Mentorship; Performance and Change Management, Auditing and Internal Control Review and Implementation; Financial and Management Accounting and Reporting; Investments and Treasury Management (including budgeting) and Risk Management among others.
Mrs. Muchindu Kabaso holds an MBA from Heriot – Watt University, she is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) and is a holder of a Diploma in Financial Administration. She also holds a Competence Certificate for Trustees of Pension Schemes (CCTOPS) from the Zambia College of Pensions and Insurance Trust (ZCPIT) and is a Certified Expert in Microfinance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
Kachama K Kangwa - Pensions Manager
Mrs. Kachama Komakoma-Kangwa is an experienced and detail-oriented Pensions and Administration Professional with over ten years of expertise in the Pensions Industry, and six years experience in managing pension and administration functions, compliance, policy formulation and pension payroll. Mrs. Kangwa holds a Maters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lusaka (UNILUS), a double major degree in Library and Information Studies with Development Studies (B.A.LIS) from the University of Zambia (UNZA) and a Competence Certificate in Pension Administration and Management (CCPAM) from the Zambia College of Pensions and Insurance Trust (ZCPIT).
Chibamba Nyangu – Investment Officer
Chibamba Nyangu is an Investments Officer with seven years of experience in wealth management and portfolio management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Copperbelt University, complemented by professional certifications in Money Market from ACI Financial Markets and International Investments from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI).
